Plan FAQs
Common Questions
What exactly does the performance fee apply to?
The performance fee (20% for individual plans; 15% for institutional plans) applies only to actual net profit generated above the high-water mark. The high-water mark means: if your portfolio loses value in one period, we must first recover that loss before any performance fee is charged again. In a zero-return or negative-return month, you pay zero performance fee.
When and how are profits distributed?
Profits are calculated at month-end after deducting all trading costs and management fees. The net profit is then split per your plan's structure (80% or 85% or 90% to investor). Distributions are credited to your account balance within 5 business days of month close. You can either withdraw the distribution or reinvest it into the fund — your choice each month.
What happens if the portfolio loses money in a month?
If the portfolio generates a loss in any month, no performance fee is charged. The management fee (charged as a monthly fraction of AUM) still applies. Your account balance decreases by the actual loss amount. Our hard drawdown limit means trading is paused if the monthly loss reaches 10% — protecting you from catastrophic losses. All investors are notified immediately if the drawdown limit is approached.
How do I withdraw my investment?
Withdrawals are processed after the minimum lock-in period (3 months for most plans). Submit a withdrawal request via your investor dashboard or by contacting your Relationship Manager. Processing times vary by plan: 5–7 business days (Genesis), 3 business days (Meridian), 24 hours (Apex). Capital is returned via bank wire to your registered account. Profit can be withdrawn at any time; principal has the lock-in requirement.
Is my capital safe? What if FIG experiences operational problems?
Your capital is held in fully segregated client accounts — completely separate from FIG's operational funds. This means FIG's operating expenses are never paid from your capital. Additionally, 30% of your allocation is maintained in liquid instruments at all times, ensuring withdrawal requests can be honoured even during market stress. All fund transfers require multi-signature approval from senior management, preventing unauthorised movements.
Can I upgrade my plan after investing?
Yes. You may upgrade your plan (e.g., from Genesis to Meridian) by adding capital to meet the new plan's minimum threshold. The upgrade takes effect from the next monthly cycle. Downgrading is also possible — contact your Relationship Manager to discuss. Plan changes require a written request and confirmation from our compliance team.
